How much does text cost and where exactly can I send text messages?

Using mysms, every SMS costs only €0.08 (UK: £0.07). (All prices include VAT.) It’s easy to see that mysms provides an economical alternative to high network service provider charges.

You’re charged for each text message individually. A very long SMS will be charged as multiple SMS – the maximum length is 450 characters which would be equivalent to 3 texts. But don’t worry – the number of texts you’re using for the current text message is shown while you’re writing your text message.

Is my mysms data safe?

Data security is a high priority for mysms. Your SMS are encrypted and sent via SSL, ensuring the maximum security for your data. As for adding credit to your account, we work exclusively with certified partners for payment processing. You have the option of paying with PayPal or credit card (Mastercard and Visa).

I cannot attach pictures and files to my messages on my iPad? Why is that?

Due to restrictions imposed by the manufacturer, it is not possible to send messages with pictures and files on your iPad. As soon as it becomes possible, we’ll be adding sending pictures and any files to the iPad web app.

The Android app seems to have more features than the iPhone version. Why is that?

Due to restrictions imposed by the manufacturer, all the features that have been added to the Android version cannot be made available for iOS.

For this reason, sending and receiving SMS through your network service provider when using the iPhone app is not possible at the moment, and messages are also not kept in sync. Incoming messages will only appear in the normally pre-installed iPhone SMS application.

As soon as it becomes possible, we’ll be adding the missing functions to the iPhone.

How do I load credit? How much credit do I have?

With mysms, you add credit with a credit card (VISA, Mastercard) or PayPal. Credit packages are currently available in the following amounts: €5, €10, €20, €50 (UK: £5, £10, £20, £50). Once the transaction is complete, your credit can be used. Your credit never expires.

Security is very important to us. We only work with approved credit card processing companies. That’s how we can offer the highest possible level of security.

 

Here’s how to add credit:

1. Open credit info in mysms

Start mysms and call up the app menu. Simply click on “Credit” to display your credit information.


2. Choose a credit package

On the credit info screen you can see how much credit you have at the moment. This information is always available (internet connection required). Here you can choose an amount to add.

After you’ve chosen the amount of credit you’d like, select a method of payment (credit card or PayPal).

4. Providing your personal information and adding credit

 

I forgot my password. What should I do?

1. Open the login screen

Start mysms and open the login screen.

Please note: If you’re currently logged in, you’ll first need to select “Log off” under “Options”. You’ll then be sent directly to the login screen.


2. Request a passwort

You’ll see a link labelled “Forgot your password?”. By clicking on the link you’ll receive a new password and then you’ll be able to log in again as normal.

How can I change my telephone number?

1. Open the options screen

When you open the mysms app, the send form appears. In order to make changes to your personal settings, click on “Menu” (on the upper right of the message form) and then select Options.

2. Open the account information window

Under the “Other Settings” category you’ll find “Show account settings”. Select this menu option to display your account info, i.e. your telephone number and your password.

3. Enter your new telephone number

Make changes in the “Your mobile number” field. Click on “Change” to confirm the new mobile number you entered. Select “Next” and the confirmation page appears. Enter the PIN from the text message you received and again click on “Next”. You’ve just successfully changed your mobile number!

How do I use a gift credit?

1. Open the mysms credit info screen

Start mysms and call up the app menu. Simply click on “Credit” to display your credit information.


2. Provide your gift code

You’ll see your current credit balance and also the number of free texts you have available. To use your gift credit, simply click on Gift Credit and provide your code and then click “Redeem”.
