Data security is a high priority for mysms. We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the security of your personal information against loss, misuse and unlawful behavior. This includes appropriate encryption, secure storage of your information on mysms servers, and limited access to authorized employees only. More information on the use of data can be found in our Privacy Policy.
In addition to using mysms on your smartphone, you can also use mysms on your Android Tablet.
Requirements:
- You own an Android, iPhone or Windows Phone
- You have an active data or wifi connection on your smartphone
- You own an Android Tablet using Android 3.1 or later
This is how the installation works!
On the one hand we sell our desktop and tablet apps at a premium (detailed information about this strategy is available on our blog). On the other hand, we work with mobile carriers and handset manufacturers. In these partnerships mysms acts as a service provider.
In case you receive a notification on your tablet that it isn’t compatible with mysms (although you own an actually supported device), make sure you download “mysms Tablet – Text anywhere”:
a) Open the Google Play Store on your tablet and search for “mysms tablet” or
b) Try to download the app directly from this link.
Add a new contact or apply contact changes in your stock contact app and perform a manual sync in your mysms settings. After the sync has completely finished, your new contact or the changes will be displayed in mysms.
Currently, it is not possible to register on the Android Tablet. To create a mysms account, first download mysms on your Android, iPhone or Windows Phone and create an account there. Afterwards, you can log in on your Android Tablet with your registered data.
If you use mysms on other devices in addition to your smartphone, you’ve got the same sending options available as on your mobile. Depending on your smartphone, supported sending options vary. Here you’ll find the sending possibilities that are provided for your smartphone: Android Phone, iPhone, Windows Phone.
If you do not get notifications, most of the time the reason is that notifications have been disabled in the settings. You can activate them in the mysms settings.
1. Open mysms settings
Tap on the menu symbol in the Android Tablet app to open the settings.

2. Activate notifications
Now tap on notifications to turn them on. Additionally, you can set up the ringtone, the vibration and the blinking LED.

3. Check Android settings
Check if the following option is activated in your Android settings:
Android tablet settings – Wi-Fi – further settings (right-hand corner) – Advanced – Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep – Always
To start a group conversation with other mysms users, you need to create a new group first. Add up to 50 mysms friends to your group.
Click on “Create group” on the top bar. Find an appropriate name and invite your friends. Now you can start a group chat.
1. Click on the
button next to the text field of your text message.
2. Choose your desired file format in the new window.

3. Next, pick the picture or file you want to send.
4. Insert your recipient and text and there you go!
You can send 4 pictures or files per text message, 10 MB maximum per attached picture/file.
These are the most common reasons for an incomplete sync:
- Inactive or weak data connection or Wi-Fi on your smartphone.
Perform a manual sync in the mysms settings on your smartphone and re-login in the tablet/web app after the sync has completely finished. - For Android: GoSMSPro is installed on your Android smartphone.
Open “Menu” - “Settings” - “Advanced” - “Receipt Settings” and deactivate “Disable other message notifications”
In case you are experiencing issues with sending remote texts, we’ve got a criteria list that we would like you to check:
- Enabled background data (Android settings)
- No power saver app or energy saving mode (stable data connection even in sleep mode)
- Stable data connection on your phone. Try if there is a difference when using your mobile data connection or Wi-Fi. If you're experiencing the problems only in Wi-Fi mode you should try to install the app GCM Wifi Fix on your phone.
- Latest version of mysms
- Android version 2.2 or greater
- Connected Google (Gmail) Account on your mobile (to wake up your phone)
- Original Android operating system (OS) installed
- Task killer, power saver or virus scanners can interfere the functionality of mysms
- In some cases a complete uninstall and a new reinstall will solve the problems.
If you can confirm all these points, contact us via email.
Like any other app, mysms can be set to appear on your home screen.
There are two widgets available
The 4x2 widgets show the number of unread messages. You can compose a new message and get access to the message view in the app by clicking on the message or conversation. In addition they are available in light or dark theme and can both be used on the lock screen (> Android 4.2):
- The mysms (Messages) widget lets you choose, whether you want to display the messages of all or only a specific contact. Moreover, it is possible to only show the unread messages and you can mark these messages as read by tapping the check box.
- The mysms (Conversations) widget shows the conversation overview directly on your home screen (requires Android > 4.0).
Installing the widget
Open the Android menu and go to the tab “Widgets”. Search for the mysms widget you want to use and longpress on it to put it on a free space on your home screen.
