With mysms friends you can send free text messages to other mysms users. For every message you send, you’ll receive a free confirmation that the message was received. The green mysms button
shows you if a contact is already using mysms friends. If your contact is available as a mysms friend, mysms friends will automatically be selected for sending (button changes to green).
How do I activate mysms friends?
After you successfully register, mysms friends will be active. To make changes, follow the steps below:
1. Open settings
Start mysms and open the app menu. Clicking on “Settings” will give you access to the mysms options.
2. Setting up mysms friends
Scroll down to the “Web services” category. Click to access additional settings – there you’ll see “mysms friends”. Under mysms friends you can choose if you’d like to receive and send mysms friends messages. By default sending and receiving via mysms friends is activated as this allows you make full use of the mysms friends feature.
Data security is a high priority for mysms. Your SMS are encrypted and sent via SSL, ensuring the maximum security for your data. As for adding credit to your account, we work exclusively with certified partners for payment processing. You have the option of paying with PayPal or credit card (Mastercard and Visa).
mysms is completely free as long as you text via your mobile carrier or via mysms friends. If your carrier charges too much for text messages, you can also buy credits from mysms and save on costs.
The current global text rate is € 0.08 (UK: £0.07) (all prices include VAT). You’re charged for each text message individually. A very long SMS will be charged as multiple SMS.
1. Click on the
Button next to the text field of your text message.
2. Choose your desired file format in the new window.

3. Next, pick the picture or file you want to send.
4. Insert your recipient and text and there you go!
You can send 4 pictures or files per text message, sized 10 MB all together.
With mysms you can send any kind of file you want – Word documents, pdf-files, avi-files, etc. If the recipient of your text is also mysms user, your pictures will be displayed directly in the message. If your recipient is not using mysms, she/he will receive your files as a link. After clicking this link, she/he will be shown the full picture/file. As this function is also available for mysms web, sharing files is made a lot easier with mysms. Additionally all your files are saved in the mysms cloud, where you don’t have to worry about them.
Due to restrictions imposed by the manufacturer, it is not possible to send messages with pictures and files on Android tablets. As soon as this becomes possible, we’ll be adding sending pictures and any files to the Android tablet app.
Depending on which sending option you are using, mysms supports different destinations:
If you send messages via mysms friends, you can text worldwide for free. There are no country restrictions.
If you would like to know, to which countries you can send SMS via your mobile carrier, please contact your mobile carrier directly.

It’s great that you like the application and want others to use mysms! Using the Android app you can send an invitation directly via SMS, email or social media: Start mysms and open the “Menu”. There you’ll see an option to “Invite friend” – it’s that easy to share mysms with all your contacts.
The mysms cloud is the heart of the mysms app. The cloud makes it possible to synchronize all your contacts, messages and settings, making everything available to you on any of your devices as well as online using the mysms web app.
When the mysms cloud is active, your text messages are kept safe and backed up. If you lose your smartphone or you get a new one, you can easily restore your SMS – they’re on the cloud.
All your mysms friends settings as well as sending confirmations for SMS sent via mysms and mysms friends are handled by the mysms cloud.
This is how to make changes to the mysms cloud:
1. Open settings
Start mysms and open the app menu. Clicking on “Settings” will give you access to the mysms options.
2. Open mysms cloud
Under the category “Web services” you’ll see “mysms cloud”. Click on “mysms cloud” to reveal your cloud settings.
With mysms, you decide how your text message is sent. In the “Send text via” function, the three different options available are listed.
1. mysms for my country and other countries:
You send all your texts using mysms, regardless whether the destination is domestic or foreign. The mysms fees apply.
2. mysms for other countries:
You send all text messages bound for other countries via mysms. Your domestic texts are still sent via your service provider. For texts to other countries, the mysms charges apply. For domestic text messages, the amount you pay depends on your service provider.
3. Network provider:
All text messages are sent via your mobile network service provider. The amount your are charged depends entirely on your service contract.
You can set up your personal “Send text via” options under “Settings” (for all contacts) as well as directly when you’re sending an text message by using the Quick Routing feature (for individual contacts). You can set it up to work however you like, and you can change the settings anytime.
Here’s how to configure “Send text via”:
1. Open mysms
In order to open the application, scroll to it in the program overview. Click on the icon to open mysms.
2. Open the settings
Once you’ve opened the application, open the application menu. A click on “Settings” will bring up the detail view.
3. Set up the “Send text via” function
Under the Sending text category you’ll find “Send text via”. A click opens the menu. This is where you choose how your text will be sent. Only one of the sending methods can be deactivated at a time. You can change these settings whenever you like.


Here’s how to use Quick Routing:
1. Open mysms
In order to open the application, scroll to it in the program overview. Click on the icon to open mysms.
2. Write a new text message
When the mysms application starts, you are presented with your inbox. Select “New text” and the message form will appear. Simply enter the recipient and your text message as you normally would.
3. Select Quick Routing
On the lower right of the message form you’ll see the quick routing button. You should see the your "send text via" option that you’ve selected under settings.

When you tap and hold the Quick Routing button the mysms routing options will appear. Select whether you would like to send text messages over the mysms network, through mysms friends or using your network service provider. The routing setting that you select will be saved only for the current contact. Changing the setting on the message form does not change the routing settings for all contacts.

You can also use the Quick Routing button for ongoing conversations. Again, the setting will only be changed for the current contact and your standard routing settings remain unchanged.
Like any other app, mysms can be set to appear on your home screen. This makes it easier for you to start the application quickly. Using the mysms widgets for texting is another option.
There are two widgets
- The mysms Icon Widget displays the number of unread messages. This is different than the quick start which only opens the application – the mysms widget can also perform this function.
- The number of unread texts are also shown on the mysms Big Widget. It additionally allows you to reply to an text message directly from the home screen.

Installing the widget
Click and hold on a free area of the home screen for a few seconds. A menu will open. Choose “Widgets”. All the available widgets will be shown. Select mysms Icon or mysms Big. That’s all you have to do to add mysms to your home screen.
1. Request a new password
Start mysms, go to login and click on "Forgot your password?".

2. Enter mobile number
In the "Forgot your password" screen enter your mobile number and click on "Next" to proceed.

3. Log in with new password
Your old password is now being reset. We will send you a new password within a few seconds. After receiving the new password you are able to log in to your account.
In order to change the password, please do the following:
1. Open settings
Start mysms, select the app menu and click on "Settings".
2. Open the account information
Under "Other settings" you’ll see "Edit account information". Click on it to see your account settings.

3. Change password
To change your password, simply click "Change" and enter your new password. Then click on "Change" again to activate your new password.

3. Open the account information window
Under the "Other Settings" category you’ll find "Edit account information". Select this menu option to display your account info, i.e. your telephone number and your password.

4. Enter your new telephone number
Make changes in the "Your mobile number" field. Click on “Change” to confirm the new mobile number you entered. Select "Next" and the confirmation page appears. Enter the PIN from the text message you received and again click on "Next". You’ve just successfully changed your mobile number!

With mysms, you add credit with a credit card (VISA, Mastercard) or PayPal. Credit packages are currently available in the following amounts: €5, €10, €20, €50 (UK: £5, £10, £20, £50). Once the transaction is complete, your credit can be used. Your credit never expires.
Security is very important to us. We only work with approved credit card processing companies. That’s how we can offer the highest possible level of security.
Here’s how to add credit:
1. Open credit info in mysms
To start mysms, open the program overview and scroll to the mysms app. One click opens mysms.
Once you’ve opened mysms, call up the application menu by clicking on the menu button on your mobile phone. The menu will appear. Click on “Credit info” to see your credit information.

2. Choose a credit package
On the credit info screen you can see how much credit you have at the moment. This information is always available (internet connection required). To add credit with a credit card, click on “Load credit”. Select the credit amount that you would like to add. Clicking on “Load” will allow you to enter your credit card information.


3. Selecting a payment method
After you’ve chosen the amount of credit you’d like, select a method of payment (credit card or PayPal).

4. Providing your personal information and adding credit

Sometimes Task Killer can affect the functionality of mysms.
If Task Killer closes the application, the connection to the server is lost – this can result in a delay in receiving new messages that can last several minutes.
1. Open the mysms credit info screen
Start mysm and call up the app menu. Simply click on “Your credit” to display your credit information.
2. Provide your gift code
You’ll see your current credit balance and also the number of free texts you have available. To use your gift credit, simply click on Gift Credit and provide your code and then click “Redeem”.
